Following a call for applications launched in the spring of 2016, ALPhANOV was selected by CNES (French National Center for Space Studies) for a research and technology (R & T) program.

ALPhANOV is in charge of a feasibility study for a high-energy laser source (10 mJ) in the femtosecond regime, with pulse duration around 100 fs. This one-year study will end in September 2017.

For ALPhANOV, the choice of CNES is the acknowledgment of its expertise in developing innovative laser sources, to meet custom specifications. It is also a great opportunity to put this expertise at the service of the space industry, for which the notion of reliability is critical.
