Created in September 2021, following the ALIENOR collaborative project, the young and promising start-up BLOOM LASERS innovates in the design of industrial lasers and brings value to a fast-growing market.

Julien Saby, founder and director of BLOOM LASERS, and his team of co-founders, formerly involved in the ALIENOR collaborative project, have launched a start-up that combines unique know-how in the design and manufacture of lasers for industry with mature, reliable technology. Working in the field of photonics and optics technologies, BLOOM LASERS already offers two time-agile UV nanosecond lasers for laser micromachining: YUCCA and CAREX. BLOOM LASERS is targeting the microelectronics sector, driven by technologies of the future (5G, portable medical devices, electric cars, mobile telephony), as well as the energy sector, such as the manufacture of batteries and photovoltaic panels. Based on proven technology, BLOOM LASERS has developed a competitive, agile laser source capable of generating unrivalled power. This new start-up brings added value to its customers by enhancing their market competitiveness through process quality improvements and productivity gains in the manufacture of microelectronic components, batteries, glass or solar energy devices.

The lasers feature unrivalled performance:

• Short, high-power pulses, ideal for industrial output requirements.
• Proven design and technology, already adopted by microelectronics manufacturers.
• Industrial design, reliability and maintenance expertise that meets industrial expectations: HALT (Highly Accelerated Life Test) design and testing, HASS (Highly Accelerated Stress Screen) certification, FMEA (Failure Modes and Effects Analysis).
• Time agility for better quality control of laser machining processes, and adaptability to the machining of multi-layer materials.
• UV wavelength generation of industrial quality and reliability, with lifetimes of up to 30,000 hours - more than enough to satisfy the expectations and requirements of industrial customers.

Based in Pessac, Cité de la Photonique, BLOOM LASERS is made up of 7 experts who, over many years, have built up world-class know-how in fiber laser technology, UV conversion and industrialization for 24/24 industrial applications. BLOOM LASERS is positioned as a manufacturer of robust, reliable lasers capable of meeting the most demanding industrial reliability requirements. ALPhANOV supported the BLOOM LASERS team throughout 2020 and 2021, through the ALIENOR project. Funded by the Conseil Régional de la Nouvelle-Aquitaine, ALPhANOV has provided the ALIENOR team with a suitable framework and development, and technical ressources for its R&D: opticians, electronics engineers and mechanics.
