ALPhANOV created and put online a website dedicated to the Technological Alliance of Laser and Health: www.atlas-onco.com

The Technological Alliance of Laser and Health was initiated to organize and structure the photonics sector in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region. It brings together different academic research, industrial R&D and collaborative R&D projects. The 7 partners involved in the Alliance will develop and promote innovative technologies for medical applications of lasers.
3 projects are part of this alliance:

• LEAP project: developing technological elements for a new generation of high power and high energy lasers. Its applications are large: from basic research in plasma physics to industrial and medical markets.
• CONVERGENCE project: Allows the rise in energy and average power of industrial lasers for applicative purpose. It is based on the development of components for high energy lasers.
• XPULSE project: developing a phase contrast mammogramphy system based on x-ray source generated by laser and dedicated to the early detection of breast cancer. This prototype will allow a more reliable and earlier diagnosis of breast cancer while reducing the doses received by patients.
